The Garmin gWind™ Transducer with GND™ 10 Black Box Bridge (010-01227-00) uses twin-fin technology and a three-bladed propeller for more accurate True Wind Speed (TWS) in lighter air, while the twin fin design gives a more stable True Wind Angle (TWA). Unlike a cup design, the three-bladed propeller is always efficient, and combined with optic reading it delivers superior accuracy at low wind speeds and excellent linearity. The included GND 10 black box bridge lets the Nexus Network and compatible Garmin chartplotters share critical NMEA 2000 data, so Garmin chartplotter owners can use Nexus sail equipment and vice versa.

GND™ 10 Black Box Bridge

The GND 10 seamlessly integrates Nexus instruments and sensors with the Garmin family. It converts data between the Nexus Network and NMEA 2000 for compatibility between Nexus and Garmin products, including gWind, gWind Wireless and gWind Race transducers, and its plug-and-play installation between Nexus and NMEA 2000, with USB connectivity, needs no user setup or system configuration.

The GND 10 lets PC applications such as NexusRace, Expedition, Adrena or SeaTrack communicate sailing-specific functions between Nexus and NMEA 2000 networks, and it allows GND 10 software updates over NMEA 2000. The existing NexusRace PC application can update software and configure and calibrate Nexus devices over USB using the FDX protocol.
