Boating The Girl Scout Way

Boating The Girl Scout Way

Hi! Hello! We’re Addie and Isa from Girl Scout Troop 12139. We noticed that boats and outboard motors can sometimes harm wildlife and the ocean. We came up with a few simple ways boaters can help protect the environment while still having fun on the water:

  • Whatever trash you bring out on the boat, make sure you bring it back with you.
  • Always follow the signs and rules posted along the waterways.
  • Slow down in areas where manatees and other marine animals may be present.
  • Be careful not to spill fuel, oil, or other harmful liquids into the water.
  • Use environmentally friendly boating products whenever possible.

We also made a fun game to help you learn more!
